BSK Builds but some tests still fail

Post by johnmartin » Wed Jun 20, 2018 3:25 pm

Problem: I managed to build Basilisk on a relatively old Mac System (OS X Lion) using CMake; however when I go to run pytest to verify proper installation, multiple tests fail. When I run "pip list", Basilisk isn't among the installed modules.

Cause: Pip was outdated (~7.0.4) and unable to install pytest-runner which preventing setup.py from generating the Basilisk module.

Solution: Pip required re-installation using:

Code: Select all

curl https://bootstrap.pypa.io/get-pip.py -o get-pip.py
python get-pip.py

Install the remaining required packages and rerun cmake.

To install this in the user directory Python folder, ~/Library/Python on macOS, you can also use

Code: Select all

python get-pip.py --user
